| Welcome to LocationOne Information System (LOIS). We are delighted to share our business tool with thousands of economic development organizations across the country. LOIS is designed specifically for organizations performing economic development activities.
To attract new companies in today's highly competitive environment, economic development professionals need to maintain reliable, comprehensive data that can be quickly provided to corporate location decision makers. LOIS, a web-based searchable database platform, provides a container for demographics, and economic profiles for states, counties, metro/regions and communities along with their available sites and buildings.
Once populated, the data is viewable on the web and can be printed in PDF or
HTML format or downloadable in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet providing the decision maker with a variety of options for getting what they need to analyze a location.
Not only is LOIS a great way for an organization to publish information on the web, it is also a platform for sharing data with state, regional and utility partners to avoid duplicating work. One database - multiple users.
The application consists of two web sites.
- Data Administration Facility (My LOIS) - A password protected Internet application located on the web at www.locationone.com/lois/adminindex.html that permits a user to enter and maintain their information. The data and images, once saved, are published instantly on the Public Site.
- Public Site - A web site that professionally displays the information and images that are entered into the Data Administration Facility by the user. The general public will access the site from a user's own web site. A URL is created for each user that allows them to place a hyperlink on their web site, which publishes only the data the user wants the public to see.
Unique Features
- Single database that allows a user to share data with their economic development allies.
- Easily add, edit and delete site content for localities, sites and buildings.
- Customize a view of LOIS by adding an organization title, choosing text styles and colors, and adding a logo or banner. This feature allows users to easily integrate the public site into their own web site design.
Information on the public site can be viewed, e-mailed, printed or downloaded for the decision makers to analyze.
